Creative Resources you might want to know about... _________________ Illinois Art Fair Directory A directory developed to help artists find art fairs to sell and promote their work. Shows can range from $35-$300. Whatever your budget this directory is a valuable resource. Chicago Artist Coalition CAC is great for keeping up with local events also, if you're into art shows they provide details and applications for local events. Merchandise Mart The Merchandise Mart - Chicago Is a great jumping off point for emerging artist. I've met a few artist who sell through them. I was told that you really need to be fast at product turn around when selling with them.  Not condusive to creative sabbaticals. Artist's & Graphic Designer's Market (book) ADGM is a super awesome resource for any artist looking for an outlet to sell.   They list hundreds of galleries, publishers and retailers all over the U.S. who are looking for fresh talent. It takes a lot of homework but, worth the effort. Etsy Sell your artwork through this online "gallery".  They only charge 20cents (yes, TWO DIMES) a listing. You get a wonderful store front, and the traffic is incredible. One word of advice, take great photos and maintain your store with lots of product.  Oh- and don't get discouraged if you don't sell right away. Endurance is key.
